Rent
Jonathan Larson's "Rent" is a powerhouse of a full length musical I got to be the Production Stage Manager For, put up as part of NYU Steinhardt's 2025/26 season, and directed by the head of the vocal program Errik Hood. His concept for this specific production has the ensemble on stage for the whole show, acting as the life support group for Mark to tell his story to.

This production was a wonderful opportunity for me to connect with people who share a love of this show and it's origins. During rehearsals, we had the lovely Jen Ashley Tepper in to give the student performers a presentation on who Jonathan Larson was and the history behind both him, and Rent. We also had Elizabeth Hary in to work with our Angels to give them vocal feminization tips and training, and our Assistant Director, Toby "Toast" Chernesky, give them a seminar on drag performance. Barrie Gelles was our Intimacy Coordinator and became our defacto dramaturg because of their plethora of knowledge, and helped set up talkbacks for every performance.

Despite low budget contraints, the community really came together to make this performance amazing!
